More Than a Home: An Extension of the Classroom

Our residential care is an educational experience in itself. Students receive the same related services as they do in school, speech, counseling, and behavioral support, while engaging in meaningful routines that promote daily living, community participation, and personal growth.

Our Living Facilities

The Kessler Center School’s residential program includes three Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) homes, each serving up to eight students. Located just steps from the school, these homes are warm, structured, and staffed 24/7 to provide individualized support in a safe, community-oriented setting. Daily routines focus on life skills, social interaction and emotional well-being, making each residence a true extension of the learning environment.

Building Skills for Life

Skill development goes far beyond academics. Through structured teaching and hands-on learning, students gain practical abilities in communication, emotional growth and development, daily living skills and community integration. Every activity, from classroom instruction to residential routines, is designed to help students increase independence and build meaningful, transferable life skills.

Eligibility & Placement

The Kessler Center School serves students ages 5 to 21 with autism and developmental disabilities who require a highly structured, supportive educational setting. Placement in both our day and residential programs is determined through the student's local school district Committee on Special Education (CSE). All referrals must come through the CSE process; placements cannot be made directly by families or external agencies.
